Carp Management
Since 2011, PLSLWD has been managing carp populations. Depending on the time of year, the District utilizes different tools to most effectively manage carp populations:
Winter
Under-ice seines, radio-tags, passive integrated transponder (PIT) tags.
Spring
Open-water seining, temporary traps, gill netting, and electrofishing.
Summer
Baited box nets
Fall
Open-water seines, microhauls, and removals from various other waterbodies
