The PLOC pipe runs for .4 miles out of Lower Prior Lake, and was showing signs of wear and tear after 40 years of use. The Prior Lake-Spring Lake Watershed district received a grant to help pay to re-line the pipe and contracted with Insituform to complete the project. Pipe lining is all Insituform does, and their expertise showed. They were able to line the pipe with a new hard resin core that will extend the pipe's life by another 50 years. The re-lined pipe will not eliminate major flooding, but rather will help water leave the lake more efficiently so flooding may not be as severe.
