The Raingarden-in-a-Box kit features four different raingarden designs: Shrub Garden, Flower & Fern Garden, Bird & Butterfly Garden, and Native Prairie Garden. Each planting plan includes a recommended plant list and an example of how you could design the layout of your raingarden.

Planting Plan #1: Shrub Garden
All species are suitable for full sun to shade (requires at least 6 hours of sun per day). It is low maintenance and includes all Minnesota native plant species. Plants are adapted to clay or loam soils.

Planting Plan #2: Flower & Fern Garden
This plant design is as showy as possible for shady conditions. All species are suitable for shady conditions (4 hours or less of sun per day). Includes all Minnesota native plant species. Plants are adapted to clay or loam soils.

A raingarden for our winged friends! All species are suitable for full sun only (at least six hours of sun per day). This option is very showy with pink, purple and yellow bloomers. Includes all native plant species. Plants are adapted to clay or loam soils.

Includes all Minnesota native plant species and all are drought tolerant. Plants are adapted to clay or loam soils.
